Dan,
when I read your finding I was shocked for a moment ;-) I tried to
search Drools 5.0 and 5.1 in JBoss Nexus search dialogue and Nexus
couldn't find these versions.
Anyway I can't explain that NEXUS searching issue but my build
downloaded "missing" versions immediately if I purged my local repo. So
I was checking what is the URL - I have set up fairly standard JBoss
Maven repository
https://repository.jboss.org/nexus/content/groups/public/, which is an
aggregation group of all PUBLIC repositories on jboss.org. It is true
that not all maven artifacts for JBoss projects are on Maven Central.
The synchronization with Maven Central is set up somewhere and project
leads are maintaining/asking for inclusion.
Currently Drools are defined in Seam parent as 5.0.1. I know from our
EAP5 product, that Drools 5.1 are still compatible and it is a drop in
replacement, so we can upgrade to 5.1.1, which I believe is the latest
release for 5.1.x. I will upgrade locally and check your new migrated
example and commit the change ASAP today. There is already an issue for
Drools upgrade - https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBSEAM-4756.

I commented out the projects contactlist, drools, and blog for now,
since there are some dependency issues. Which comes to the following
question: What Drools version should be used with Seam 2.3? Another
question: I should assume that that not all jboss project are NOT on
maven central. All that correct?
